George Zinavoy nesnáší školu. Je zamlklý a u mnohých nepochopený. Zanedlouho se však skamarádí se Sally (Emma Roberts), která si na škole hodně zakládá a má dobré známky. Právě do Sally Howeové je George už dlouhá léta zamilovaný a i po letech zjišťuje, že mu dívka není lhostejná. Má také štěstí, že ona sama v něm nachází spřízněnou duši. Proto je jen na něm zda vše nechá beze změny nebo zahodí ikonu školního flákače a pokusí se o to, aby ho měla dívka ráda.
