Televizní film o životě amerického sportovce Grega Louganise, jeho cestě ke slávě a odvaze v boji s HIV. V roce 1988 na olympiádě v Soulu zavadí Greg o skokanské prkno a dopadne do vody s rozseknutou hlavou. Silný otřes vyvolá vzpomínky na dětství a dospívání, kdy ho ponižovali výrostci ze sousedství, na jeho adoptivního otce, který nebral jeho zájem o vodu, na zlatou medaili z letní olympiády v roce 1984 v Los Angeles, na úmrtí otce na rakovinu, na prohraný boj jeho přítele Toma s AIDS a na to, že on sám je HIV pozitivití. Poté, co mu lékaři v seoulské nemocnici hlavu zašili, vrátil se zpět do skokanské soutěže a získal další dvě zlaté medaile. Po úmrtí otce a ztrátě přítele se Greg odhodlal veřejně přiznat svou homosexualitu.
