Dokument pojednává o početné americké rodině z Illinois. Nejstarší ze sedmi dětí Jake Rademacher se vydává do Iráku natočit dokument o svém mladším bratru Isaacovi, který tam slouží v armádě. On sám se o službu v armádě pokoušel, ale narozdíl od svých dvou bratrů neuspěl. Po příjezdu se vydává s průzkumnou jednotkou na hranice se Sýrií, kde mapuje její činnost. Isaac je mezitím převelen zpět do států a Jake tak zůstane v Iráku s jednotkou sám.
