Jsme v dobách, kdy je Indie ještě stále kolonizována Brity a seznamujeme se údajně neohroženým skotským regimentem, který střeží "bránu Indie" – Chajbarský průsmyk. Indičtí domorodci už mají sto chutí vyhnat všechny Angličany nadobro pryč, ale o skotských "ďáblech v sukních" panují tak drsné pověsti, že si na ně nikdo netroufá. Pak ovšem jeden afghánský bandita náhodou zjistí, že skotští vojáci nejsou až tak tvrdí, jak se původně myslelo a pod kilty nosí bavlněné spodní prádlo. Vše se dozví i prohnaný rádža z Kalabáru a vydává se i s důkazem do Afghanistánu. Když se mu podaří přesvědčit tamní bojovníky, že Skotové jsou opravdu takhle vyměklí, mohl by rozpoutat krvavou revoluci…
