Vášnivý surfař a vynálezce šílených a všemi odmítaných přístrojů Edison (Scott 'Carrot Top' Thompson) trpí se svými dvěma přáteli v děsném podnájmu a život tráví hledáním stále nového zaměstnání, než jednoho dne spraví auto milionáři (a také rovněž surfaři) Armandu McMillanovi.Ten si oblíbí Edisonova tvůrčího ducha natolik, že mu po své smrti odkáže svou továrnu. Tam Edison vnese nový vítr a nastartuje ekonomický růst, svým vystupování si získá i zaměstnance a členy správní rady. Až na jednoho – McMillanův synovec se nehodlá smířit s tím, že mu strýc odkázal jen svůj surf a hodlá Edisona poslat ke dnu…
