Mladým manželům, Timovi a Allie (Tim Rock a Kelen Coleman), kteří cestují přes Kalifornii se pokazí auto a tak se vydají hledat pomoc pěšky. Narazí na kazatele (Billy Drago) a jeho ukrajinskou nevěstu (Barbara Nedeljakova), žijících ve starém domě. Protože uvázli uprostřed pustiny, daleko od jakékoliv civilizace, bude muset maldý pár zůstat ve starém domě přes noc. Ale to netuší, že kazatel vězní v boudě blízko domu démonické dítě, které zatouží po ještě nenarozeném Alliině dítěti.
