Finbar Flynn (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), mladík z malého irského městečka, dostane šanci stát se hrdinou, ale domů se vrátí poražen. Jednoho dne prostě skočí z mostu a zmizí. Jeho kamarádovi z dětství Dannymu (Luke Griffin) po nějaké době kdosi volá ze Švédska a představí se jako Finbar – a Danny vyráží na cestu za nalezením svého kamaráda i sebe sama. Scénář volně vychází z novely Carla Lombarda "The Disappearance of Rory Brophy".
