Romantická komedie natočená v holandsko-britské koprodukci vypráví o osamělé Ellis (Linda de Molová), která má syna a pracuje v hotelu. Když se setká se Susan, která napsala úspěšnou knihu o tom „Jak se provdat za milionáře“, spisovatelka si ji vybere jako objekt svého „experimentu“. Ellis zpočátku nevěří, že to bude mít nějaký efekt, ale díky Susan se vnitřně osvobodí a seznámí se s celou řadou milionářů, z nichž někteří by se s ní chtěli dokonce oženit. Ošklivé káčátko se opravdu změnilo v krásnou labuť, ale nakonec se rozhoduje podle hlasu svého srdce, nikoliv podle výšky účtu v bance.
