První filmové zpracování románu Konec dobrodružství 1951 britského spisovatele Grahama Greenea, který je částečně inspirován jeho vlastním milostným vztahem. V Londýně během II. světové války a těsně po ní se odehrává příběh milostného trojúhelníku spisovatele Maurice Bendrixe (Van Johnson), vdané Sarah Milesové (Deborah Kerr) a jejího manžela. Posedlostí, touhou a žárlivostí zmítaný Bendrix přesvědčený o tom, že jej milenka odvrhla kvůli jinému muži, si najímá soukromého detektiva, aby zjistil pravou příčinu konce jejich vztahu. Skutečnost, proč se žena se záchranu jeho života během bombardování vzdala lásky k němu a upnula se k Bohu, jej nečekaně zaskočí.U nás je známější adaptace Hranice lásky režiséra Neila Jordana z roku 1999, která ovšem sází především na efektní retrostylizaci a eroticky dusnou atmosféru a přes výborné herecké obsazení nedosahuje myšlenkové hloubky původního románu.
