Tom a Susie se brali z lásky. Tomova máma si však nevěstu neuměla oblíbit. Po 9 letch manželství se vyhrocují problémy. Susie je podrážděná a vrátí se s dětmi k rodičům. Tom se zamiluje do své asistentky a vezme si ji. Susie má románek se svým bratrancem, který má, ale psychopatické sklony. Nechce dovolit, aby se Tom setkával se svými syny. Vše končí u soudu. Tom dostane možnost setkávat se s dětmi přes prázdniny, ale Susie to neakceptuje. Skutečný příběh rozvrácené rodiny s překvapující tragickým koncem.
