Pro Britského experta na vlky, Shauna Ellise, nejsou vlci pouze jeho prací, ale i rodinou.Po celé roky s vlky spal, jedl, aby se zapojil do jejich života a stal se tak členem smečky. Jeho cílem je pomoci lidem porozumět vlkům a pokusit se tak obnovit vlčí populaci na světě. Žil s nimi sám do chvíle, než se objevila jeho přítelkyně Helen Jeffs. Přijala jeho styl života, postupně se zapojila do procesu, který započal a pomalu se stala také součástí smečky. V pořadu se Helen bude učit jak s nimi žít, chápat jejich řeč, výt, štěkat, orientovat se pouze podle sluchu a čichu a možná stárnout po boku Shauna Ellise, který celý svůj život věnuje těmto zvířatům.
