Třináctidenní bitva o Alamo, jedna z fází texaské revoluce, se stala námětem ke zfilmování již více než desetkrát. Naposledy roku 2004 (THE ALAMO). Naopak MARTYRS OF THE ALAMO je z celé této řady nejstarší – roku 1915 jej zrežíroval Christy Cabanne. Jak letopočet napovídá, jedná se o film němý. Typické jsou pro něj velmi časté střihy a, pochopitelně, statická kamera. Většina děje se odehrává na válečném poli, nechybí ale ani laškování vojáků s místními dívkami či nahlížení do vojevůdcova stanu, v němž se může znalý divák kochat pohledem na nažehlené dobové uniformy.
