V sedmnácti letech je Luke ještě příliš mladý na to, aby mohl jít volit. Již více než rok však pracuje pro vedoucí kampaň pro Barracka Obamu. Po této době se rozhodne cestovat na Demokratické národní shromážděnído Denveru, vidět na vlastní oči Barracka Obamu a vyslechnout si jeho proslov. Daleko od domova Luke následuje prezidentského kandidáta od takzvaného Super úterý až do dne voleb. Podél cesty se zaboří do své minulosti, do svého úsilí pomoci zvolit za prezidenta Barracka Obamu a do své naděje na lepší budoucnost.
