Komediální sitcom o absurdních situacích, které vznikají kolem ústřední dvojice (trojice) Richard – Christine. Z Christine se stává "stará/bývalá" Christine v okamžiku, kdy si její bývalý manžel Richard najde mladší a hezčí "novou" Christine. "Stará" Christine se s tím vzhledem ke své ztřeštěné povaze nevyrovnává lehce a nepomáhá jí v tom ani nový vztah. Ačkoli se snaží s každým dobře vycházet, život jí komplikují nejen nafoukané matky spolužáků jejich syna Ritchieho, které si z ní a její rodiny neustále utahují, ale především neujasněný vztah k bývalému manželovi.
