Dcera úspěšného akcionáře Doris (Frances Farmer) má krátce před svatbou, když ji navštíví teta a nabídne jí, aby o svém úmyslu vdát se ještě popřemýšlela na jejím ranči. Doris nemá žádný důvod tak činit. Shodou náhod však nakonec stejně skončí ve vlaku putujícím na ranč, kde je jejím jediným lidským společníkem tetin zaměstnanec Jeff (Bing Crosby).
