Vyhlášený kulinářský kritik Robert Danvers (Peter Sellers) láme se svým televizním pořadem „Dobrou chuť“ všechny divácké rekordy, stává se miláčkem národa a také ostře sledovanou celebritou. Jeho sláva mu otvírá srdce všech žen a Robert toho velmi bezostyšně využívá, v jeho posteli nikdy nespí stejná žena dvakrát. Až náhodné setkání s mladičkou Marion (Goldie Hawn) vyvrátí zaběhlý pořádek, Marionina bezprostřednost a promiskuitní odmítání romantického románku Roberta zaskočí a velký svůdník toho večera poprvé selže.
