Calvin Carter (Steven Webber) je mužom, ktorý keď sa do niečoho skutočne zahryzne, tak nikdy nevie, kde sú hranice. Keď od svojho otca preberal malý obchod, už vtedy vedel, že sa mu raz podarí rozširiť sa na celú sieť predajní. Calvin je workoholik, akého by ste museli hľadať veľmi dlho. Veď kto by už štedrý večer trávil v práci okrem Calvina. Práve teraz totiž zisťuje možnosti expandovať az za hranice. Po úspešnom zvládnutí transakcie sa Calvin nezdrží a od šťastia na ulici skríkne čosi o tom, že práve prežil ten najlepší štedrý večer vo svojom živote. Keď sa však vo veľkom hluku obzrie, čosi neznáme stojace pred ním je posledné, čo si pamätá. Teraz je v nemocnici, kde má dvanásť dní na to, aby prišiel, čo pre neho v skutočnosti znamená „najlepší štedrý večer“…
