New York City 1988. Wall Street je místem, kde se má uskutečnit největší obchod století, největší korporační fúze v dějinách, formou spekulativního "vykoupení" akcií dobře se rozvíjející se společnosti, která ale patří někomu jinému. V sázce této aukční války je 25 miliard dolarů představující hodnotu společnosti R.J.R. Nabisca, která se dostala do uměle vyvolaných potíží. Roztáčí se kolotoč, ve kterém se cítí ošizeni všichni dravci z Wall Street, kteří byli z tohoto obchodu vyšachováni. Tito barbaři za branami hrozí válkou… Film byl natočen podle skutečné události. Jména společností jsou skutečná, jména postav jsou pozměněná.
