Požiar v lesoch prinútil vlčiu svorku nájsť si útočisko v blízkej pustine, kde terorizujú miestnych obyvateľov. Vodca svorky je Lobo, kríženec (Rin Tin Tin). Svorka naháňa stádo dobytka a je odhalená miestnymi ozbrojenými obyvateľmi. Tí sa dajú na prenasledovanie vlkov. Lobo sa oddelí od svorky a odvedie pozornosť ľudí, no je zranený. Nájde ho miestny zlatokop, Dave Weston (Charles Farrell), ktorý Loba uzdraví a stávajú sa priateľmi. Medzitým sa však situácia v mestečku zamotáva…
