Temné, citové drama o osiřelém mladistvém muži jménem Darkly Noon (Brendan Fraser), pocházejícím ze striktně náboženské rodiny. Noon je ztracen v lese a skončí v domově krásné Callie (Ashley Judd) a hluchoněmého Claye (Vigo Mortensen). Callie se stane jeho ošetřovatelkou, aby se vrátil zpět do plného zdraví, on se jí ale stává posedlý až do šílenství a násilí.
