Film vypráví o pirátském kapitánovi (H. Grant), který se snaží vyhrát v soutěž Pirát roku. Proti němu se postaví Black Bellamy (J. Piven) a Cutlass Liz (S. Hayek). Z Karibského moře se dostanou až do viktoriánského Londýna, kde se setkávají s všehoschopným nepřítelem, který je odhodlán vymazat je z povrchu zemského jednou provždy. Piráti zjišťují, že jejich cesta pro ně byla poučná, když používali sílu zdravého optimismu proti násilí svého zdravého rozumu.
