Záhadná mizení obyvatel indické osady spravované Britským Commonwealth neuniknou pozornosti tamní vojenské posádky. Šetřením případu je pověřen ambiciózní kapitán Harry Lewis, který poměrně brzy odhaluje, kdo ve skutečnosti za únosy stojí a co se s jejich oběťmi stalo. Tak kruté pravdě ale zpočátku nechce nikdo věřit…Mysteriózní horor z produkce Hammer Film režíroval Terence Fisher, známý především díky dnes již legendárnímu zpracování Doylova Psa Baskervillského.
