Dokumentárny film, ktorý sprevádza krátkou históriou elektrických áut poháňaných batériou v Kalifornii. Postupne sa dostane od narodenia, cez obmedzenú komercionalizáciu až po násilné ukončenie tejto etapy automobilizmu. Venuje sa hlavne autu EV1 od General Motors a snaží sa vysvetliť, ako je USA závislá na rope a ovládaná ropnými spoločnosťami. Poukazuje aj na to, ako sa automobilky báli takýchto áut, pretože by prišli o množstvo ziskov plynúcich zo spaľovacích motorov, ako sa interesoval Biely Dom a prečo padá vina aj na samotných zákazníkov.
