Belle Scottová (ANNA FARISOVÁ) a Bell Grangerová (LAURA BRECKENRIDGEOVÁ), dve mladé krásavice z južanskej Georgie, majú už plné zuby svojho nudného a chudobného života v prívesoch na parkovisku a hrozia sa budúcnosti po boku otravných manželov bez peňazí. Zúfalo túžia po dobrodružstve a živote vo veľkom meste, v ktorom určite nájdu oveľa lepší a pohodlnejší život, aj keby si k nemu mali pomôcť podvodmi. A tak sa ich cieľom stáva „veľkomesto“ Atlanta. Ich plány dostať sa k peniazom sa však riadne zhatia, keď sa Bell zamiluje do príťažlivého policajného dôstojníka s príznačným menom Rhett Butler (JUSTIN CHAMBERS)…
