Hammer Film Productions, založená roku 1934 v Londýně komediantem a obchodníkem Williamem Hindsem, v pozdějších letech svým nasměrováním k hororům redefinovala novodobé pojetí celého tohoto žánru. Původně bezvýznamná společnost z Wardour Street se stala nejúspěšnějším britským producentem všech dob, filmy od Hammerů se promítaly doslova po celém světě, dobrodružné, válečné, krimi, dramata, thrillery, cestopisné. A samozřejmě také horory – Curse of Frankenstein, Dracula, Pes Baskervillský, The Mummy, Paranoiac; to je jen zlomek z těch, které se nesmazatelně zapsaly do análů filmové historie.Televizní dokument FLESH AND BLOOD – THE HAMMER HERITAGE OF HORROR přináší ve výpovědích filmových kritiků, ale i samotných herců či tvůrců mnoho podrobností k této slavné a dosud ještě neuzavřené kapitole britského filmu.
