Šťastie z nich urobilo partnerov. Žena z nich urobila rivalov.Do zastrčeného mestečka jedného dňa dorazí výrečný podvodník a ostrostrelec Shea McCall, ktorý v pokri obohrá miestneho opilca, a stane sa tak majiteľom polovice ranču. Túto skutočnosť so zdesením prijíma spolumajiteľ ranču, Bj Stoker. Najradšej by sa nového „partnera“ zbavil, ale to nie je jednoduché. Z oboch mužov sa stanú nepriatelia na život a na smrť, keď švihácky Shea začne nadbiehať milej a láskavej vdove zo susedstva, Liz Calhounovej, do ktorej je kovboj Bj už dlho zaľúbený. Keď však na ranč zaútočí banda banditov pod vedením Generála, musia zabudnúť na svoje nezhody a bojovať bok po boku proti spoločnému nepriateľovi…
