Rodina Caldwellovcov sa vyberie na spoločnú dovolenku – keďže Alexander práve zmaturoval a jeho sestra Katie má na vysokej voľno – a spolu s ňou aj jej spolužiačka Ariana. Otec Oliver a jeho druhá manželka Jenny sa rozhodnú pre dovolenku v Portoriku, lenže opatrovateľka s nimi odmietne ísť, a tak sa Oliver a Jenny musia starať aj o ich novorodenca – malú Sarah. Oliver a Jenny musia zároveň prekonávať generačnú priepasť medzi svojimi deťmi, ale čelia aj romancám ich dospievajúcich potomkov…
