The Century of the Self je seriál britské televizní stanice BBC, který vznikl pod taktovkou známého tvůrce Adama Curtise. Popisuje, jak byly teorie Sigmunda Freuda, otce psychoanalýzy, využity v praxi s cílem ovládat masy. Pionýry nových technik v komunikaci s širokou veřejností byli Edward Bernays, Freudův synovec, a dcera Anna Freudová. Série velmi poutavě vysvětluje fenomény jako vznik konzumní společnosti, utváření veřejného mínění a výchova moderních občanů demokratických systémů.
