Show Eda Bowese hledající nové talenty a pomáhající jim s prvními krůčky po prknech, která znamenají svět. Většina z nich byli jen komické figurky, zpěváci, hadí muži, jódlující trojčata, drezéři zvířat. Ti lepší se přidali k Bowesově potulné show a ten nejlepší se stal významným zpěvákem, mecenášem a hercem. Amatérská hodinka běžela až do sedmdesátých let.Frank Sinatra se k Bowesovi dostal jako člen skupiny "Frank Sinatra and the three flashes" (Jimmy Petrozelli, Patty Principe, Fred Tamburro), kterou později sám Ed přejmenoval na "Hoboken four". Frank ji však brzy opustil a šel za lepším.
