Secret Origin je dokument, který mapuje historii komiksových postav z dílny vydavatelství DC Comics (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern a další) od jejich vzniku na přelomu 30. a 40. let minulého století až do současnosti. Vývoj komiksů je sledován v sociálně-politických a kulturních souvislostech, diváci se seznámí i s nejrůznějšími filmovými podobami komiksových postav. To vše je doplněno o rozhovory s osobnostmi, které byly a jsou s vydavatelstvím DC Comics a jejich komiksy spojovány (např. autoři Neil Gaiman a Alan Moore). Celým dokumentem provází hlas Ryana Reynoldse, filmového představitele superhrdiny Green Lantern.
